if you turn it in, the military will never get it back or want it back.and migth wind up in some cop's tactical bag. You still don't know for sure that it is stolen. if you wanted to press it, you could tell the seller you think its stolen and are going to the police. Not sure of the relationship between the seller and the OP but the best thing would be to get the rifle back, and return the optic. chances are very high it was stolen, never saw a shop or a cop. This seem logical, because to the average guy, getting it from a " Cop " would somehow validate its lineage.Īimpoints are used in the Military. and your assumption is that the guy who sold it to the OP was making up the part about it coming from a cop. Milled areas will remove the slides coating and expose raw steel which will rust if left untreated.Click to expand. So Popeye, you are eluding to the original narrative. Unless selected as an option above, the milling cost does NOT include slide refinishing. NOTE: This is only available for Glock slides and is for milling service on a customer supplied slide ONLY. The Aimpoint Acro milling is not available for slim line Glocks (G42, G43, G43X & G48), or MOS models. The raw steel will oxidize if left untreated! To avoid oxidation, we recommend having us Cerakote the slide to preserve its integrity. When a slide is milled, the finish in the milled are is removed which exposes the raw steel. This and all of Alpha Dogs slide milling patterns are 100% CNC machined which increases milling accuracy and finish quality. We recommend Ameriglo or Trijicon suppressor sights for those that are wanting a co-witness. With our Aimpoint Acro optic milling, the optic will sit as low as possible on your slide however, if you are looking for a co-witness with your iron sights, suppressor height sights will still be required. If you are looking to co-witness with iron sights, you will need to select “Add Dovetail in front of optic” to install a rear iron sight. As such, we must place the Acro milling must on top of the rear sight’s dovetail. Please note that the Aimpoint Acro is too long to place in front of the rear sight dovetail. Once your slide is milled, the optic is securely held in place by the front and rear pocket edges, in addition to the undercuts which the optic clamps to. The Acro has a unique, modified picatinny rail mount which will be milled directly into your slide, so, no adapter plate will be required. Our Aimpoint Acro optic milling creates a precision, direct mount feature on your Glock slide.
